An entrepreneur by nature, Gene started Sun Capsule when he and his dad, Arthur, built their first indoor tanning booth in their garage in 1979. In the early 1980's, Gene and his business partner Carol Abramo (Sun Capsule CFO/Co-Founder) developed the first franchised network of tanning salons with over 50 salons in New England.
Gene's focus has always been to build the most powerful and reliable tanning booths available. Over the years the Sun Capsule has evolved from a 30 lamp, 100 watt tanning system with a maximum exposure time of 27 minutes to today's unprecedented 54 lamp, 250 watt system featuring an ultra short exposure time of 7 minute or less!
With the help of some very talented people, Gene and his partners have kept Sun Capsule the number one vertical tanning system in the world. There is a reason that Sun Capsule has outsold all the other vertical competitors combined for the past 25 years. With the advent of the newest creation, the 250 MAX, Gene looks forward to what the future will bring for Sun Capsule.

A good entrepreneur needs a good organizer. Carol met Gene Charette when he owned one of the largest fire alarm companies in the Northeast. Hired as a secretary in 1973, Carol quickly became the keeper of the keys, responsible for accounting, employee relations, and overseeing the day to day operations of the fast growing business.
In 1979 the decision was made to enter the all but non-existent tanning salon industry and there was no question that Carol would again be the person to rely on to ensure that things ran smoothly. As partners, over the following 28 years, Gene and Carol became one of the most respected and successful tanning equipment manufacturers in the U.S.
Today, Carol is responsible for the worldwide business activities that originate from Sun Capsule's 53,000 square-foot headquarters outside of Boston, Ma. After 35 years of a very successful business partnership, she is still the keeper of the keys.

At 25 years old, Wayne relied on his entrepreneurial spirit to guide his early success in business. While most of his close friends sought employment with large corporations, Wayne was hard at work opening his first of many indoor tanning salons in the greater Boston, MA area. This is where his relationship with Gene and Carol began as he opened multiple salons under their Tan-O-Rama franchise system.
Wayne joined Sun Capsule in 1997 and pioneered a unique, pay as you go, lease to own program for the Sun Capsule product line. The new system gave thousands of salon owners a simple and effective way to own the very best in tanning equipment with little upfront capital. Wayne spent several years traveling the country, building one of the strongest direct sales organizations in the industry.
In 2006, Wayne became a partner at Sun Capsule Joining its founders Gene Charette and Carol Abramo. In 2007 Wayne became the company's president and as he puts it "I have the best job in the world. Each day I get to sell a product I truly believe in while working with great people.

A veteran at Sun Capsule and in the tanning industry, Keith has seen a lot of innovation and changes during his tenure. In 1999 when the retail video rental business had begun its dramatic slowdown, Keith, using his University of Miami education and street smarts realized he needed to reinvent his retail video store. Rather than sit back and simply his business slip away, Keith remodeled and reinvigorated his video store by adding indoor tanning.
Now Keith's wife runs their combination video/tanning business with a combination of 4 Sun Capsule Tanning Booths and 4 tanning beds. Keith covers the entire New England area and parts of New York providing salon owners and Sun Capsule customers with personal service and helpful information to assist them in starting, running, and improving their salons.

Craig, a veteran of the tanning industry, has been a multiple salon owner since 1991 in the ever competitive New York Metro market. Since joining Sun Capsule he has been providing all of his clients with an extensive amount of knowledge and experience with regard to all phases of salon operation from finding the right location for their business to finding the right mix of tanning booths and tanning beds. He understands what is necessary to keep a tanning salon successful.
Craig's extensive experience makes him an invaluable resource for salon owners looking to stay competitive in the changing market. In three of the past five years his salons have been recognized by Looking Fit magazine for being on their now famous annual "Top 250 List". Craig's tanning salon experiences combined with his 20 years of work in the leasing financing industry brings a complete balance to the Sun Capsule team.

After playing professional baseball for 10 years, Jeff joined the Sun Capsule team. Since that time Jeff has dedicated himself to selling the best vertical tanning booths in the market.
Jeff owned and operated 3 very successful tanning salons in Connecticut before heading south to Florida. Now a resident of Florida, Jeff continues to rely on his New England background and previous experience as a salon owner to help current owners adjust their salons and business models to meet the current market conditions.

While still in high school, Mike convinced his mom to add a tanning bed to her nail salon and her business has never looked back. Now with 8 tanning booths and tanning beds, her full service salon in Ohio has been a community leading business for over 9 years.
Since Mike joined Sun Capsule he has not only represented the Sun Capsule brand in his home state of Ohio, but also in roughly 1,000 salons coast-to-coast. What drives Mike is his desire to assist salon owners in creating new business opportunities and maximizing their profitability just like he did for that family nail salon back in Ohio.

Jason has extensive experience in tanning salon build outs and contractor negotiations. This experience has proved to be invaluable to Jason as he owns and manages two indoor tanning salons in his native state of Connecticut. Both of his salons have been recognized by Looking Fit magazine on their annual "Top 250 List".
Jason makes a terrific addition to the Sun Capsule team and his "hands-on" experience makes him the perfect representative to launch Sun Capsule's new "Circle of Excellence" strategic partnership program." Through this program, Jason will focus his attention and efforts on providing fellow salon owners with creative and strategic options to grow their business and maintain a competitive edge. The keys to this are his extensive knowledge of tanning booths and tanning beds, as well as his past experience with marketing salons.
